Life Drawing Workshop

Adults
Thursdays 7pm to 10pm & Saturdays 9am-noon
$10 ($50 pre-paid for 6 consecutive workshops)
Students (attendance with parental consent)
$5 ($25 pre-paid for 6 consecutive workshops)
Facilitator: Jack Edwards & Chuck
Great models and relaxed friendly atmosphere. Drawing horses and large work tables available. Brush up on your drawing skills or explore new techniques. Everyone is welcome, no previous experience necessary. Workshops are non-instructional drawing sessions.

Screen Printing Classes
Ages 15 to 105
Thursdays & Saturdays
Teacher: Rolo Castillo
Basic techniques of silkscreen printing are introduced.
Students leave with finished print or t-shirt.

WEDNESDAYS:

Poetic Style (2 sessions: 4-5pm OR 5-6pm) $5.00 a session
Hosted by Speak Child’s David Oliver Aka Judah 1. This is an introduction to various styles of poetry. Discover innovative ways to put your passion on paper. Spend time working on the elements of action, imagery, personification, rhyme and rhythm. From Sonnets, free verse, bop, haiku, simile, metaphor, sestinas and beyond, this workshop gives you a broad overview of poetical form. Sharpen your writing skills and discover the multiple dimensions of written expression.

THURSDAYS:

dA Gallery Apprentice Training (4-6pm) $5.00 a session
Students learn how to prepare, hang and produce a show. They can serve hours as greeters, sitters and Gallery Store sales clerks.
Skateboard Design & Silkscreen (4-7pm) Not available the 2nd Thursday of each Month
$15.00 a session includes materials cost
Basic techniques of silkscreen printing are introduced. Students leave with finished print or t-shirt. Skateboard workshop covers design and demonstration of unique transfer technique to skateboards.
Live On Stage (4pm-6pm) $5.00 a session
Hosted by Speak Child’s David Oliver Aka Judah 1. Get on stage and develop the skills needed to become a polished performer. Gain confidence, increase your stage presence, learn how to speak with more power and volume. We encourage, support, guide and inspire our youth to perform their work and get exposure to spoken word.

Students develop and strengthen their figurative skills through observation of live models and staged environments.

SATURDAYS:

Life Drawing (9am-12pm) parental consent required

Portfolio Review Workshop (12-2pm) $5.00 a session
Students engage in an ongoing development of individual portfolio pieces used for acceptance in college review
