The dA Center of the Arts is pleased to host, The POEMBOOTH
A poem in a phone booth bears witness to disappearing modes of communication, while suggesting alternative ways that we might speak with each other. Pitzer Professor Brent Armendinger and his students have turned an old phone booth into a "poem-booth" and set it up inside the dA gallery.
When passersby pick up the phone, they can listen to a collaborative poem and record their own contributions. The poem-booth project can be reached toll-free from any telephone - ideally a public payphone - at 1-877-eat-poem.
